So I’m riding my bike

on Tuesday, 24 April 2012

I have a system when I am on my bike. I always ride on the sidewalk unless there is no sidewalk, so what I do when someone on a bike (or not on a bike) is coming towards me or I am about to pass someone is… I stop and wait for them to pass. Or, I move off onto the street through a driveway and back up onto the sidewalk through the next driveway as to avoid hitting the pedestrians.

Some dumb cow stops me and says — screeches — at me that I need to get off the sidewalk because my bike is too big and if my bike is a certain size I have to be on the road. I figured she was just being a cunt (she looked like one) and so I said “Oh, sorry, I didn’t know”, and kept going on the street (because I had moved off the sidewalk at this point), then I moved back up after I saw they were gone. As I kept getting closer to my house I got pissed off more and more, the nerve! That dumb whore told me that I’m not allowed to be on the sidewalk, what right does she have to do that? Screw her.

So I get home and at this point I am furious. I tell my mom and dad what happened and they say what I was thinking “No, you don’t, you can be on the sidewalk if you want to”. I decided to ask the people who would know, the police!

I called the non-emergency number for the Beavercreek police and I asked them “Someone told me that if my bike is a certain size that I have to be on the road, is this true?” The woman responds with “I think you do, but let me ask my supervisor to be sure.” So I wait about a minute and she comes back “Okay, my supervisor said that it is a city ordinance that you have to be on the road if your bike is too big, BUT, you CAN be on the sidewalk if you yield to pedestrians.” I asked her if what I did counted as yielding which is, off driveway onto street, back up onto sidewalk through next driveway, and she said “Yes, that does count as yielding.” Thank you, very much.

I’m hoping that when I ride my bike again tomorrow, I’ll see the dumb cow and she can screech at me again and I can respond with “Actually, yesterday after you said that I went home and I asked my parents, they said that I could be on the sidewalk, but I took it a step further, however, and called the police and asked them. They said that as long as I yield to you and your little bastards, I can stay on the sidewalk. Yielding means that either, I stop and wait for you to pass, OR, I move on the street through a driveway, and back UP on the sidewalk after passing you, so I am not in violation of that ordinance. If you have any more problems, please talk to my parents, as I am a MINOR.”

Anyhow, that’s all for today. I’ll post again about this when I see her next and she tells me — screeches at me — and I respond to her.

Dumb cow…

If you do encounter her again, it might be best to edit your response somewhat, to not include any references to her “little bastards.”

    Just sayin’ … ;-)
