I decided to start talking about stuff that’s happened in news that I find interesting and matters to me on my blog now, maybe get a few more blog entries out each week, and maybe get some people back reading.

Let’s kick this off with Stephanie Dillard who was found naked, eating ice cream in a Houston drug store. She was charged with endangering a child after her vehicle collided with a METRO bus on Friday.

She has three children, ages 5, 12 and 16. They suffered minor injuries and were shaken up after the crash. Detectives say that Dillard got out of the car after the crash and walked away. Then she went to a nearby CVS and began to undress as she ate ice cream.

The children have been given to a grandmother after Dillard was arrested, her bond is at $2000.

What the hell? You’ve just been in a wreck, and your kids are frightened, so you decide to strip down in a drug store and eat some ice cream. People are getting really stupid, and irresponsible.

Next we have the Ohio man who was arrested on Sunday for making methamphetamines inside a Walmart.

James Richardson, 37, was spotted by store security placing ingredients in his shopping cart that are commonly used when making meth.

He then combined the ingredients in a salt shaker and began shaking the container. Inside the Walmart. Yeah. That’s gonna go real well.

Richardson was arrested as he attempted to leave the store. Richardson has five previous felony drug convictions, and his bond is set at $75,000

On Tuesday Egyptian officials denied reports that deposed President Hosni Mubarak was clinically dead after he suffered a stroke and slipped out of consciousness at a prison hospital in Cairo, according to state and independent news media.

There were conflicting reports about the former leader’s health after a report by the official state news agency MENA declared that Mubarak was “clinically dead” after he was transported from a prison hospital to a nearby military hospital.

Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for three decades, has suffered from a number of ailments including depression, heart attacks, cancer, and hypertension.

“This isn’t the first time Mubarak and SCAF cried wolf to find he’s suddenly all right again, nice trick to get him out of Tora,” Jasmine Khalifa posted on Twitter.

Let’s move on to our Champ of the Day, a currently unnamed 23-year-old father in Texas who beat Jesus Mora Flores to death with his bare hands after he heard his 5-year-old daughter screaming as Jesus was attempting to molest her.

Emergency crews responded to a 911 call and found Flores’ body with his pants and underwear pulled down. The girl was taken to a hospital for a physical exam and an interview.

An autopsy showed that Flores died due to “blunt force head and neck injury,” and the death was ruled a homicide.

Authorities said the father’s account of the incident was supported by evidence and witness accounts.

Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon, who had declined to press charges against the father, held a news conference at the courthouse with other officials after the grand jury met to announce its decision to *not* press charges against the father.

Now let’s jump into some entertainment news…

Kristen Stewart is Hollywood’s highest-paid actress according to a study by Forbes. The 22-year-old star bolstered her bank account with her role in last month’s action film Snow White and the Huntsman. All together, Stewart earned $34.5 million, half a million more than Cameron Diaz. Sandra Bullock and Angelina Jolie rounded out with $20 million, and Charlize Theron, Kristen’s Snow White costar, ranked fifth with $18 million.

Microsoft announced its own, Windows-based tablet: The Microsoft Surface. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer described it as “a whole new family of computing devices from Microsoft.”

“We designed Windows 8 for the world we know, in which most computers are mobile.” said Ballmer at a hastily announced Microsoft press event for the tablet. “Today we want to add another piece to that Windows 8 sotry.”

The Surface features touchscreen and gesture technology, a scratch-resistant case, and a built in stand. You will be able to access familiar Windows programs like Office, as well as Xbox and Netflix.

The cover for the Surface is a multi-touch keyboard. The device also has a stylus, which is magnetic so it attaches to the side of The Surface. The Surface supports digital ink, allowing you to write on documents with the stylus (and presumably your finger.)

The device’s “kickstand” is about the thickness of a credit card and is designed to make “car-door noises” when it opens and closes.

The Surface is coming in 32 GB and 64 GB models, and there will also be a Pro model coming in 64 GB and 128 GB. According to Microsoft the Surface will launch at the same time as Windows 8 for PC, which will probably be in late 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises has ANOTHER trailer, what is this, trailer #23? But no matter the number, it has a lot of stuff that blows up, which is always a plus.
Video down below if you’re interested in watching it.

And lastly, Borderlands 2 looks AMAAAAAAAZING. I highly recommend lying about your age and checking out the official E3 preview.

So now I’d like to take your thoughts on two of the stories today, if anyone bothers reading this…

Do you think it was right of the father to beat Jesus Mora Flores to death? Personally, I would have beat the crap out of him, but probably not to death.

And do you intend to buy The Surface? I do not, I have the Asus EEE-pad Transformer, so I’m set.

Links down below the cut to all the things I’ve talked about today, and maybe this kind of blogging can become a regular thing.

Stephanie Dillard, mom who was found naked eating ice cream.

James Richardson, the genius who decided to make meth inside a Walmart.

Hosni Mubarak, who isn’t dead, yet.

Our Champ of the Day, the unnamed father who beat to death the man molesting his daughter.

Kristen Stewart, Twilight actress, named highest paid actress by Forbes study.

The Surface, Microsoft’s tablet.

Borderlands 2, one of the most highly anticipated games for 2012.

I agree that Borderlands 2 looks great.. Can’t wait to try it out.
I also read that Christopher Nolan has created a video trailer contest for DNR. You download some stock footage from the movie and make your own trailer. The winner gets their trailer added to the list of 28 other DNR trailers..
