How Obama Got Elected
Knight Owl tipped me to this one.
Quoting from the website How Obama Got Elected:
On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama’s limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple… the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.
On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.
The questions asked were simple. When John Ziegler appeared on Hannity and Colmes, Colmes said that he’d bet Ziegler could get the same kind of screwed up answers by quizzing random McCain voters. Ziegler disputed that, and in fact offered to pay Colme’s production costs if he could produce a legitimately created video demonstrating as much.
I can’t quiz random McCain voters, so I did the next best thing. I quizzed my 14-year old daughter Missy, without letting her watch the film clip or refer to Google, etc. I’ve put her answers in blue italics. The correct answers are in bold red. There are 15 questions showing, even though there were officially only 12. I numbered each of the “who is” questions separately.
- Which party currently controls congress? Democrats unfortunately/Democrats
- Which candidate previously had to drop out of a campaign due to plagiarism? Wasn’t that Joe Biden?/Joe Biden
- Who won his first election by getting all three of his opponents kicked off the ballot? I know this one! Barack Obama!/Obama
- Who said his policies would bankrupt the coal industry and make energy costs skyrocket? Obama. At some meeting in California I think./Obama.
- Who is Barney Frank? He’s that guy from up in Massachusetts. He’s a congressman. He’s gay. And he’s the one who caused a lot of the housing problems./Democratic Congressman from Massachusetts, who is indeed gay and did, in fact, have a lot to do with the current housing “problems.”
- Who is Nancy Pelosi? She’s a democratic congressman from California. She’s the speaker of the house./Democrat Nancy Pelosi is the speaker of the house, and is a congresswoman from California.
- Who is Harry Reid? I know he’s a senator, and I think he’s from California or maybe Arizona./The democratic senator is in fact from Nevada, and is the senate majority leader.
- Who is Bill Ayers? He’s that weather underground terrorist dude that started Obama in politics that Obama tries to say he barely knew./Couldn’t have put it better myself!
- Which candidate spent $150,000 on clothes? Sarah Palin/Sarah Palin
- Which candidate has a pregnant teenage daughter? Sarah Palin/Sarah Palin
- Which candidate said they could see Russia from their house? Sarah Palin/Sarah Palin said you could see Russia from Alaska. Tina Fey said you could see it from “her” house (while acting as Sarah Palin).
- Which candidate said they had campaigned in 57 states? Obama!/Obama, indeed
- Who said that Obama would be tested by an international crisis in his first six months in office? Joe Biden/Joe Biden
- Which said that government should redistribute the wealth? Who else? Obama/Who else, indeed?
- Is redistributing the wealth a good thing? Missy’s answer was too long. I’ll summarize it: No./Though socialists would disagree with me, the correct answer is hell no.
Here’s the video itself:
Ziegler also commissioned a Zogby telephone poll which asked the same questions (as well as a few others) of more than 500 Obama voters. The results were quite similar:
This poll will form the basis of an upcoming John Ziegler film, “Media Malpractice… How Obama Got Elected.” You can find more on John Ziegler’s site and on the How Obama Got Elected site.

Slight correction: When John Ziegler appeared on Hannity & Colmes, they played a clip of the video and then Alan Colmes asked Ziegler if one could produce a similar video of McCain supporters providing wrong answers. Ziegler said it wouldn’t be possible, and then offered not only to pay the production costs if Colmes could do so, but to pay double; and when Colmes lightly suggested that he’d need the production money up front, Ziegler offered to give it to him anyway—if Colmes would agree to pay back double when he failed to accomplish the goal.
And note that Mr. Ziegler is being quite generous with his conclusions. He does not explain the results of these interviews or the Zogby Poll by suggesting (as I would) that Obama supporters are fundamentally stupid. He concludes only that they have been duped and grievously misinformed by the Media—who abandoned even the pretense of objectivity in this election, and functioned as a giant propaganda machine for Obama.
And he’s certainly right about that. Hence, the title of his upcoming film, “Media Malpractice.”

I wouldn’t make a blanket statement that they’re stupid. I prefer “misguided” … and “uninformed.” Even “willfully uninformed,” because some of ‘em you just couldn’t tell ‘em a damned thing — you could stack the evidence against Obama knee deep and they still couldn’t see the problem.
Some very intelligent and normally sound people voted for Obama. People I like and respect voted for Obama. They wanted to believe that “hope” could bring about only good “change” and not the reverse. They didn’t take into account that for all his pretty words, they were still dealing with a duplicitous politician.
They didn’t do the research — that is, he wasn’t vetted — and the media actively declined to do so.
Even when presented with legitimate questions — name one accomplishment, or how did he win his first election, or what does he believe in — and don’t feed me “hope” and “change,” I want concrete answers — it was easier to overlook.
Anyone who dissented was a racist jerk who didn’t want the best for this country and didn’t like Obama because he was a black man.
While McCain was “definitely going to have to raise taxes” in order to do what he promised, Obama would be able to do it by “redistributing the wealth.” Why anyone making more than $250,000 a year didn’t deserve to get to keep all that money anyhow. No one needs that much!
Yeah, the small businessman would pay more in taxes and yeah, he’d be in a financial bind trying to provide the health insurance of Obama’s wet dreams, but hey, he can work harder and get over it.
So what if the coal industry is bankrupted? Who cares if energy costs soar? Why do we need offshore drilling?
What’s wrong with partial birth abortion? What’s wrong with letting “failed abortions” die? Their mothers paid for a dead baby and by God she deserves one! After all, any unplanned baby is nothing more than a “problem” and a “mistake” anyhow.
If you supported McCain, why you were voting for a “carbon copy” of W — after all, McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. (Guess carbon copies don’t have to be exact anymore, ehh? Guess 90% is “good enough” these days.)
Anyone who dared to question his relationships — take Jeremiah Wright or Bill Ayers for instance — was a petty, vindictive lout who was unfairly condemning a man for his past relationships. Besides, he barely knew Ayers! He didn’t ever pay attention in church! He had no idea Wright was a white-hating black supremacist!
His wife’s hatred of America was irrelevant and misconstrued. His lack of knowledge — 57 states? — was the result of exhaustion, quit being so petty.
Let McCain gaffe over how many houses he and his wife own and it’s a cardinal sin, but it’s okay that Obama doesn’t know there’s only 50 states, right?
Screw it. I’m sick of Obama already and the asswipe isn’t even officially in office yet. In two or three years the collective country will hopefully have had an epiphany about their great “hope” savior and we can put someone responsible in office.
In the meantime, he gets the level of respect and the same treatment as W received over the last eight years.

Don’t forget newsweek is now declaring him in the same league as Lincoln.

Todd Palin’s half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home for the second time this week to steal money.
Palin is the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin. He declined comment.
Diana Palin, 35, entered a home near Wasilla’s Multi-Use Sports Complex and attempted to steal cash from the owner’s bedroom, police said.
She also broke into the same house on Tuesday and stole $400, they said.
She was arrested Thursday morning on felony charges of first-degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass and theft, police said. Friday morning, she remained jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer in lieu of $10,000 bail and court-approved third party custodian.
Diana and her husband, Scott McLean, live in a different neighborhood from the location of the home she is accused of burglarizing.
McLean said Friday he didn’t recognize the street where his wife was arrested and had no idea why she might do what police say she did. McLean described Diana Palin asa stay-at-home mom who takes good care of their two young children.
McLean said he got a call Thursday around 10:30 a.m. from police, asking him to come pick up their 4-year-old daughter, and has heard nothing since.

Uhhh… so what?
Are you suggesting that it somehow reflects on Sarah Palin? Do you think we should care that Sarah Palin’s husband’s half-sister seems to have committed a crime? Do you imagine that Sarah Palin is to blame in some way for this other woman’s actions? Given that the woman was arrested and is sitting in jail right now, it’s clear that Sarah Palin is not using her position as Governor to help her. Hell, she didn’t even bail her out, and that wouldn’t even take any abuse of power.
So tell us why you think this story is noteworthy.
Do you think the actions of relatives should be held against politicians? Do you think the mere possibility that a politician might help a relative in legal trouble is a damning fact, even when they haven’t done so?
If so, are you then also bothered that Barack Obama’s aunt is an illegal alien, who has been breaking the Law for many years now by overstaying her visa and refusing to be deported? Are you bothered that Obama clearly has the power to guarantee she’s never deported? And how about the fact that her deportation hearing was just recently put off until next year? Does that have your panties in a twist?
Because if it doesn’t, and you still think Diana Palin’s crimes are even worth mentioning, then you’re a hypocrite.

This is more proof that barking moonbats are scared shitless of Sarah Palin. They are so afraid that she will run for president that they are trying to dig up anything, no matter how minor or irrelevant, that they can feed to the barking moonbat crowd.

By the way, I was refering to the idiot who posted above Knight Owl, not the article itself.

Seriously. Off-topic much, Zaz?
