Almost always reliable …

There’s just really nothing needs to be added to this one.  He was an idiot, and he paid for his idiocy.  Cause and effect.  Action and reaction.  Deeds and consequences.

Pinal County sheriff’s Lt. Tamatha Villar says 23-year-old Darrell Dunafon and two friends broke into a cell tower site about 30 miles south of Phoenix on Friday night and were parachuting off the approximately 400-foot-tall antennae.

Dunafon’s parachute tangled in nearby 12,000-volt power lines and he was shocked with a live wire.

Villar says the two friends called for help, and rescue crews turned off the power and cut Dunafon down. He had a slight pulse but was pronounced dead at a hospital in the nearby town of Casa Grande.

He won’t be doing THAT again, will he? Wonder if his family is going to try to sue?

Whoever wrote this is a piece of sh*t. Who are you to talk negatively about people who have passed away? This man served our country with 2 tours in Iraq and this is how you repay him? Shame on you. You fail.

  2. Jenn Says:

No, dear. He parachuted near live wires and shocked himself to death. In America, *after* surviving 2 tours in Iraq (according to you). So in essence he dodged death overseas just to seek it out when he got back home to safety.

I think it qualifies as *him* failing.

  3. Kate Says:

I didn’t write negatively of him anyhow. I merely pointed out that he’d paid for his idiocy and listed some of the alternate ways to express such a sentiment — cause & effect, etc.

But now that I have read your note, I have to tell you that I am not only seriously ashamed, I am also distressed and dismayed. I am, in fact, absolutely heartbroken to know that a member of our armed forces was so fucking stupid he would try to skydive off a cell phone tower. At night, no less.

I thought they had an entrance exam for the military? They certainly did when my Dad was in. Even if they don’t, you’d think they’d have taught him better.

Good thing he cleared himself out of the gene pool though. Wouldn’t want that stuff spreading. ::shudder::

  4. Billy Says:

To the asshole who posted at 20:27, your friend was a stupid sack of shit for partaking in this moronic stunt. So what if he was in the military? It doesn’t change the fact that he was a complete dumbass! Maybe you should have talked some since into your friend. He’d still be alive had he not tried that stupid stunt.

  5. gregory Says:

you people are a bunch of hartless jerks. hwy would you put up something as hateful and rude as this article? howbout showing respect for this poor soul and his family and friends by removing this hateful entry from this website thankyou very much?

  6. Jenn Says:

It’s “hartless” because why? Because it happened to someone you claim you knew? If it wasn’t, you’d be shaking your head and calling his actions stupid, too.

  7. Billy Says:

Somebody wou can’t spell or put spaces between words isn’t worthy of a real response other than this: fuck off and die.

  8. Kate Says:

Gregory: I’m thinking of putting up a tribute to your friend. Do you think extra crispy KFC gets the point across well enough or is that too subtle?

  9. Davros Says:

Actually a really big bug frying on the zapper for 30 seconds seems more appropriate in description. Brain donors like Gregory don’t understand subtlety.

  10. Knight Owl Says:

    Friend o[f] Dunafon:

You ask, “Who are you to talk negatively about people who have passed away?”

Who do you think she needs to be? Who do you think has the right to say Darrell Dunafon was a moron whose own stupidity got him killed? Nobody? Do you think that (allegedly) serving two tours in Iraq made your (alleged) “friend” immune to all future criticism?

Well, guess what, asshole: It didn’t.

    Gregory:

You want us to show respect for “this poor soul?”

NO—because he doesn’t deserve any respect. He was not some “poor soul,” to whom a tragic and unforeseen accident occurred. He was an idiot, whose own criminal stupidity got him killed.

And for what? So he could get a 30-second thrill out of jumping off a cell phone tower?

Well, he got his thrill, didn’t he? I’ll bet those 12,000 volts gave him quite an adrenaline rush.

Sure, that probably wasn’t the kind of thrill he was hoping for—and unfortunately, it was a “Once In A Lifetime” kind of thing—but if he wanted to survive the experience, then maybe he should’ve used his fucking brain.

As for those “family and friends” you’re so concerned about upsetting… well, golly, that’s awfully considerate of you.

Too bad Darrell himself didn’t care about how HIS actions might upset his family and friends. Too bad HE didn’t stop and think about how his brilliant scheme to illegally trespass and jump off a cell phone tower might have some unpleasant consequences.

And if those family and friends are upset about Darrell’s decision to commit an incredibly stupid accidental suicide, then they probably shouldn’t go surfing the Internet to see what people are saying about it.

the vast majority is a comfortable place to hang out and talk about things you have no way of comprehending.

“Kate”, you proclaim your christianity. Really. Please talk to him about what your saying about others. It really reflects poorly on him and you.

  12. Kate Says:

I think you didn’t complete your initial thought, Rat. If that IS a complete thought, then I’m afraid you’ve lost me.

In any case, though, I am indeed a Christian. And if you think I’m saying something less than Christian about your “friend” then I would suggest to you that you need to read the bible before you try to throw it in my face. I assure you that folks back then — why even Jesus His-very-own-self — had some really harsh things to say about others.
