Child abuse?
You call it.
Jeanette passed this one along.
Personally, I consider it child abuse, but your mileage may vary.
The pain 8-year-old Brittney describes doesn’t come from falling off of her bike, or losing a tooth-but from this: Botox injections-administered by her Mother.
Britney’s mother says she started giving the injections to keep up with the beauty-take-all world of the pageant circuit an idea planted by other pageant moms.
What do you think? Abuse or acceptable?
I’m not one to throw the term “child abuse” around lightly, but if this doesn’t qualify I’d really like to know what does …

First of all, the mother should be jailed for dispensing medication without a prescription. If she’s being given a prescription of botox for her child, the doctor should lose their license and BOTH of them should be prosecuted for child abuse.

Also 8 year old children don’t FUCKING HAVE WRINKLES.

People like this have no right to raise kids. If she’s forcing the girl to take botox injections then the bitch needs to be jailed.

I thought the Irish dance world was bad…but it doesn’t even compare……
I agree with Jeanette’s first comment.

Yeah, somehow botox makes our complaints about people painting their 6 year olds up like little harlots in solo dresses rivaling evening gowns seem almost silly, doesn’t it Linda?

Headline….8 yr old taken from Botox Mom.

Yep, they took the kid. She’ll get her back, of course, but she’s gonna have to jump thru hoops and take some classes and stuff. ABC has a good article on it.
May 16th, 2011 at 16:11
She probably won’t lose the girl permanently but I hope she’s at least required to attend some parenting classes. I’m also hoping for some jail time since she’s not a doctor and you apparently have to be a doctor to administer botox.

Jesus … not only was this bitch giving her the botox treatments … she also was doing “virgin waxes” on her daughter’s pubes (and waxing her legs) AND she was planning on eventually getting her daughter’s eyebrows tattoo’d along with her lips. Here, read it yourself.
This bitch needs more than parenting classes.

I don’t think the mom should be making — or even permitting the child to make (which is her defense: “but she asked for it”) — these kind of decisions. The kid is freaking 8 years old. She doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up let alone what she wants to look like.
What happens if later on she decides she doesn’t WANT tattoo’d eyebrows?
What if she decides she doesn’t LIKE her tattoo’d pink lips?
What if she later decides she wants pubic hair?
One of those articles said the botox injections can affect the growth of the facial bones and shit — what if the shape of her face winds up being unpleasant to her when she’s 20?
What if there’s some as yet unknown side effect of botox that might affect her later on in life as a result of getting these injections this early in her life?
I retract my earlier statement that mom needs parenting classes, and even my statement that she needs “more” than parenting classes. She needs THERAPY. And her daughter needs a stable home with a real parent — one who doesn’t give in to every childish whim or foist her own insecurities off on her child.

Figures…they live in San Francisco…..granola land (fruits, nuts and flakes).
May 16th, 2011 at 21:26
I take it all back. I hope she never gets custody of her daughter again.

Your comment needs a “like” button, Jeanette.

And now this stupid cunt is claiming she lied for money. That a tabloid approached her and offered her money if she’d make all this crap up. First, like Kate said in IMS, “what was she injecting her daughter with?” we all saw that on the video. Second, it’s an AWFULLY convenient excuse now that she’s facing losing her kid. Third? Let’s say it IS true, it’s still a form of child abuse as far as I’m concerned.

Have to agree with Jeanette. Even if this is true…it doesn’t let her off the hook. Exploitation can be as bad as abuse in some cases.
May 20th, 2011 at 00:32
I’d go so far as to say exploitation IS abuse, Linda, but I’m not familiar enough with the law.
May 20th, 2011 at 01:05
If exploitation is not abuse, it damned well ought to be. I remember a children’s services brochure that declared that “sarcasm” and “teasing” is child abuse.
